New Years with our New Missionaries

Because we received our new missionaries the evening before New Years Eve and because there were no bus tickets available to do our transfer over the holiday we had the opportunity to keep all our new missionaries over the holidays.  We were all together for 5 days!

New Years Eve started out with a fun breakfast with the Hermanas that are staying here in the Mission Home with us!

We took advantage of the time during the day to do extra training and answer questions.

Some of the missionaries enjoyed picking the fresh peaches on our tree.  They were perfectly ripe this week!

They were such a great group to just jump in and help wherever they were needed!

It was President Lovell's Birthday just a few days before.  Those in the Office gave him a special pen to write on his iPad so he didn't have to use his finger anymore.  They think it will be easier for him to use and that it will look better when he uses it for trainings!

They were all so willing to share their talents!

Each of the missionaries already in the mission had plans to spend New Years Eve (until 9:00) with families in their areas and then return to their pensions to bring in the New Year as companions.

Our New missionaries went to the church for games and activities lead by our Assistants and Office Secretaries!

Then they all came to the Mission Home for Taco Salad.

I had added photos on the Mission Bulletin Board of our new missionaries!  They were excited to see themselves there on the board with the other missionaries in the mission!

Then the Elders went to the Casa Grande to wait for the New Year.  They had a good time playing soccer and eating good food!  Of course Hermana Ehmke had prepared many treats for them!

The Hermanas at the Mission Home had Banana Splits!  It was the first time many of them had eaten them!

We brought a few games with us and we had a fun night playing them together.  It was fun to hear these Hermanas explaining how to play phase 10 in their very best Spanish.  They did great!

President Lovell taught them how to play Mexican Train!  So fun!!!

Then it was time to bring in the New Year!

It was a very warm summer night.  As we walked the Hermanas to their Hotel we saw firework going off to celebrate the New Year!

The next day we joined the Neuquén Zone for their zone activity!

Then we came back at the Mission Home for Dinner and some spiritual time together.

Happy New Year to each of you!!!!
